NCATC conferences are well-known for the sharing of ideas and exchanging of useful information both in formal sessions and during networking time provided for attendees. Willingness to be a presenter and to share your expertise and experiences makes NCATC conferences even more valuable.
You are invited to submit presentation proposals that focus on the role of Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) in any of the four tracks described below.
Wednesday Workshops (Focus on Industry Partners, Strategic Partners, Educational Suppliers, etc.)
Workshops will be presented in breakout rooms seating up to 40 persons in theater or classroom style and will be scheduled for 1-1/2 or 2 hour blocks on Wednesday (10/5/11). Breakout rooms will be equipped with a data projector and screen. If you are using electronic presentation materials (such as PowerPoint) you are responsible for bringing your own laptop and providing handouts.
Thursday Forums (Focus on Community/Technical Colleges, National Grant Recipients, ATCs, etc.)
Forums will be presented in breakout rooms seating up to 40 persons in theater or classroom style and will be scheduled for one hour blocks on Thursday (10/6/11). Breakout rooms will be equipped with a data projector and screen. If you are using electronic presentation materials (such as PowerPoint) you are responsible for bringing your own laptop and providing handouts.
Track 1: Innovative and Exceptional Practices (ATC Programs, Services and Operations)
Suggested forum subjects include new, cutting-edge and/or creative programs, services or delivery methods used to reach customers, clients and students. Programs and services that are selling well in continuing education, professional development or community education; how you found a market niche; how you are growing your market; new and improved methods of delivery; ATC operations and staffing, needs assessments, etc. are good examples.
Track 2: Emerging and Transfer Technologies
Suggested forum subjects include programs and services in advanced manufacturing, biotech, nanotechnology, advanced/alternative energy, environmental, IT, photonics or other highly technical, new, emerging fields and/or technologies brought to your programs from industry or introduced to industry by your organization.
Track 3: Grants, Funding Models and Partnerships
Suggested forum topics include NSF, DOL, DOT or other grants and grant-funded programs; using third-party vendors, hybrid/blended E-Learning and/or successful partnerships with industry, government and/or other colleges. Also encouraged are practices, methods and approaches you have used to grow a product line, increase your market presence and take advantage of new markets, new revenue sources, etc.
Track 4: P-16 Continuum, Workforce Career Pathways
Suggested forum topics include linkages with youth in Pre K-16 to education, career preparation, workforce and economic development promoting technical skills and knowledge-based career pathways. 2+2+2 articulations, Tech Prep, Job Shadowing, Co-Ops, Internships, Apprenticeships, Military Transitions, On-the-Job Training, etc. are good examples.
