Letter of Commitment
Paul joined the Pierpont Community & Technical College team, serving initially as Director of Economic Development and Workforce Education in 2004, and was named Vice President for Workforce Development in 2011. Within these positions, he has performed in an administrative role for a broad range of non-credit career and continuing education programs.

A graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Paul holds a BS degree in Vocational - Technical Education, and an MS degree in Adult and Technical Education from Marshall University. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Management in Community College Policy and Administration Program at University of Maryland University College.

In addition to his work within higher education, Paul has over twenty years of experience in the wood products manufacturing industry, including his ownership of a small business that produced high-end custom cabinetry and furniture. His career in this industry sector began with a four-year apprenticeship in the carpentry and millwright trade.

As an educator, Paul still considers himself a builder, but now one who helps to create and support opportunities for people to advance their knowledge and skills for self-sustaining employment. He has developed, administered, and presented career training programs at both the secondary and adult educational levels. His work at Pierpont has been focused primarily within a leadership role for workforce education and economic development initiatives.

Paul resides in southern Randolph County with his wife, Deborah, where they have built and maintain a home and garden. They have one daughter, Laura, who resides in Richmond, VA.
