Fred Haynes is currently Associate Dean of Science Engineering & Technology at Linn-Benton Community College. Prior to his current position he was Dean of Engineering and Industrial Technology at Linn-Benton from 2001 to 2011. Fred also serves in the role of Dean of Instructional Facilities Planning. Fred has an extensive background as a technical educator at the high school, community college, and university levels. He has served in various capacities including instructor, department chair, Dean, and Associate Professor. Fred also has more than 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry as a machinist, foreman, maintenance machinist, maintenance supervisor, and education sales manager of Computer Aided Manufacturing software.
Fred earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in Industrial Education from Oregon State University. He is a board member of the American Technical Education Association, Past President of the Oregon Association for Career and Technical Education, a member of the Association for Career & Technical Education, a SkillsUSA advisor, and a mentor administrator for the Oregon Green Technician Certificate.
