Mel Cossette has over 20 years experience in manufacturing education and has developed technician training programs for industry and educational institutions, including computer based training. She serves on various community based and college advisory committees; has worked in various businesses and industries; and has held administrative positions at several community and technical colleges. Mel currently serves as the Executive Director and Principal Investigator for the National Resource Center in Materials Technology Education (MatEd) and serves as a Co-PI on several National Science Foundation-funded centers and projects. Mel is the former chair of the Marketing Committee for the HI-TEC national conference. She is also the Director for Business and Education Initiatives for Materials Science at Edmonds Community College and oversees an 11,000 square foot lab dedicated to materials science.
