Tom Crampton is Executive Dean of Regional Technology Initiatives (RTI) at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. The RTI office was created in 2001 to support the operation of the Regional Technology Center/M-TEC and focus on emerging technology initiatives, economic and workforce development, and strategic partnership building. In this role, Tom works with community colleges and universities on a regional/national basis, with business and industry partners across the region, with economic and workforce development agencies, and manages several applied research projects involving development of medical devices, advanced manufacturing systems and e-Learning solutions. Tom has been at Mott since 1987 and was a faculty member in the Drafting and Design Technology program prior to this appointment. Before coming to Mott, Tom spent eight years in the engineering design industry and an additional two years teaching at a private two-year institution. Tom has a BS in Industrial Technology and Education and an MS in Industrial Technology with a Manufacturing concentration.
